Davidson decided to participate in Keecker’s development by investing in the eponymous start-up.
Keecker is the product of a lot of research and development work lasting five years. “We wanted to invent a simple solution for a good audiovisual experience at home without having to buy and install devices in each room,” says Pierre Lebeau, founder and CEO of Keecker and former product manager at Google.
This mobile and autonomous robot, with a resemblance to R2D2, is a concentrate of high technology in a 39 cm-high case, weighing 9.5 kg. With its 90° adjustable projector, 4.1 audio system, two cameras, two microphones and sensors, it is a complete multimedia centre. It can project videos onto walls, play music, check emails and even monitor your home.
Keecker therefore fulfils the role of a television screen, hi-fi system, webcam and security camera. It moves from one room to the next when you request it by voice command: it responds to the magic phrase “Ok Keecker”. We decided to invest in this fun, smart and simple (in our image) Parisian start-up to help them perfect their ‘baby’ and to set about conquering the American market. Among other things Davidson and Keecker will develop three focal areas: software security, data modelling & object recognition, B2B applications (e.g. fleet management)
Ok Keecker, ready for new adventures?
